Dead End Love

17:13 Apr 10 2014
Times Read: 444

You call me up,

You got nothin' to say.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

I tell you what:

You just get in my way.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway...

Well, you want me back?

It's not gonna happen.

You smokin' Crack,

So, I'll keep walkin'

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Dead End Love!

Dead End Love!

I've had enough;

I can't take another day.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Get in your car,

Just drive yourself away.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Well, you want me back?

It's not gonna happen.

You smokin' Crack,

So, I'll keep walkin'

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Dead End Love

On a dirty highway.

Dead End Love!

Dead End Love!

Alright!

Talk about it...

You been lyin',

You been cheatin',

You been stealin' too!

Dead End Love,

I'm through with you!

(vamping)

Dead End Love!

Dead End Love!

Dead End Love!

How To Be Good

17:03 Apr 10 2014
Times Read: 445

Sometimes I feel so bad,

I watch the flowers die;

I don’t want to water them,

And I don’t know why.

Sometimes I hate myself,

So I push you away;

Everything is poison,

Each word I say.

And I don’t know how to be good;

I don’t know if I would,

Even If I could.

Sometimes I feel so hurt,

I just sit in the dark,

Starving myself to death,

And falling apart.

Sometimes I tell you things,

That I really don’t mean,

Just to prove I don’t need you,

But it’s not what it seems.

And I don’t know how to be good;

I don’t know if I would,

Even if I could.

The more I like you,

The meaner I am,

‘Cause there’s more to lose,

With a loving man.

And I don’t know how to be good;

I don’t know if I would,

Even if I could.

No, I don’t know how to be good;

I don’t know if I would,

Even if I could.

You Look Like A Man

17:02 Apr 10 2014
Times Read: 447

Oh, in the shadow of the night,

I wait for you to say, goodbye.

Though, I know you're not alright;

Still, I say goodbye.

Some may say you're like a child.

But that's not what I see,

When I look in your eyes.

Though you're 23…

You look like a man to me.

You’ve got women hanging 'round you,

Every night and day- yeah…

But that's alright; that's okay;

I don't mind either way:

I'm not as good as you think I am;

You're not as bad as you think you are.

I know it's just what happens,

When you pick up your guitar.

I remember the first time

I saw you and your band play;

Thought it was love at first sight,

But this I could not say.

Instead, I gave you a smile,

When I knew you could see.

I would wait for a while,

Because you're only 23…

You look like a man to me.

You’ve got women hanging 'round you,

Every night and day- yeah…

But that's alright; that's okay;

I don't mind either way:

I'm not as good as you think I am;

You're not as bad as you think you are.

I know it's just what happens,

When you pick up your guitar.

Now you're with a girl I don't like;

I'm afraid she'll bring you down.

You slept with her, the first night,

She was hangin' round.

You told me how you two fight,

And how you both will cheat.

I know it just ain't right,

Even though you're 23…

You look like a man to me.

You’ve got women hanging 'round you,

Every night and day- yeah…

But that's alright; that's okay;

I don't mind either way:

I'm not as good as you think I am;

You're not as bad as you think you are.

I know it's just what happens,

When you pick up your guitar.

Arroyo

16:59 Apr 10 2014
Times Read: 448

I left my home on the East Coast

To get as far as I could go.

I meant to roam the desert west,

To sing my songs and play some shows.

Something's lost and something's gained,

And something's blowing in the wind;

Nothing's left where we once stood,

Save for memories and the rain.

Arroyo…

Somewhere, a river's been.

Somewhere I’ve lost my friend.

Get out; Get up and run.

Get out, when the clouds come.

I spent my time in Santa Fe,

New Mexico, U. S. of A.

I went to go to college there,

To study and get my B.A.

Something's wrong; I'm not okay.

It's just Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll;

I lost my mind and my soul,

For a shot of dope and cocaine.

Arroyo…

Somewhere, a river's been.

Somewhere I’ve lost my friend.

Get out; Get up and run.

Get out, when the clouds come.

I stood by my lover's bedside,

And pleaded with him not to go.

I could not cry on the outside,

But I could not leave him alone.

Nothing left to do but pray,

Sing softly and hold his hand,

And with one teardrop that he shed,

I knew just what he would say:

Get out; Get up and run.

Get out, when the clouds come.

Arroyo.
